Biography
I was born in Liverpool to Norman and Vivienne Kuhlke on 16th December 1972.
I started life living in Anfield with my parents and my older sister Victoria (Viki) and although I have no memories of actually living there, my grandma Lulu still lives in the area so I have visited and played in the streets lots of times
My earliest memories are of us living in Tulip Road, Wavertree where I spent most of the time playing dressing up with my sister or racing round the streets on my rollerboots.
I went to Mosspits Lane primary school which I loved and my best friend Samantha and I would spend evenings and weekends at each others houses playing smurfs or having sleep-overs.
When I was about 7 years old we moved to Dunbabin Road in Childwall and soon after, when I was 8 my little sister Aimi was born.
Growing up we frequently went on day trips to places like Chester swimming baths, ice skating rink and nearby beaches with Mum, Sandra, Paula, Viki, Amanda and me all squashed into my mum’s mini.
During the school holidays we would all go to the Isle of Man where my grandma owned a cottage in Peel. Rain or shine, we would spend hours on the beach and play bingo with our uncle Billy.
Although the cottage had only 2 bedrooms, sometimes there would be my mum, dad, aunty Margie, uncle Brian, aunty Alison, Lulu, Viki, Aimi and me all staying over in camp beds and in the attic.
There was no inside toilet and I remember we had a bucket in the bedroom for night time emergencies. Eventually a nice (but still outside) bathroom was built and with us being older, we didn’t need the bucket anymore.
After Mosspits, I attended Archbishop Blanch senior school which was OK but the bus ride to and from school terrified me.
When I was 15, my family decided to move south to Bath where I still live now. I went to Ralph Allen School then decided to take A-Levels in Biology, Psychology and Sociology. With Science being my strongest subject, I continued to Bristol Poly (now UWE) to study Biomedical Science which is what I do today.
After university I was offered a job at the Bath Royal United Hospital Haematology lab where I stayed for 4 years after which I joined Abbott Diagnostics in various positions including technical support, field service engineer and my current role, application specialist.
One of my main interests is travel and I really look forward to and enjoy taking holidays abroad.
This year my partner and I visited Australia and Thailand and I have to say, Thailand has been the most interesting and beautiful place I have ever been.
During our holiday in Australia, my partner of 2 years (Terry) proposed to me in Sydney and we are currently planning and arranging our Wedding celebrations for Summer 2008.
