Early morning wake-up call in Crete

In Agios Nikolaos the binmen collect the rubbish every morning (except Sunday). They collect it early......like between 6.00am and 6.30am. They are not bothered about noise!
At 6.30, the bell is rung at the ancient little church just around the corner on the right.
This explains why one of the binmen crosses himself part way thbrough the first clip.
On Sunday there is no rubbish collection and so you can have a lie-in, the cathedral bells don't start ringing until 7.00am
You can see the rubbish collection from our window, and hear the bells from the church just around the corner but the cathedral is about 200m away so not quite as loud!
Actually, after about 5 days you learn to sleep through it!
