Wales 2007

Once a year I make a fishing pilgrimage to the Lleyn Peninsular in Wales with my friends Ben and Jason. The weather this year was pretty horrendous and the campsite was virtually marshland, but the fishing was well worth it!
After some helpful advice from some fellow fisherman, we caught our first ever Sea Bass from the beach at Whistling Sands. It's taken us two or three years trying, but after catching more the next night we've finally cracked the secret of catching this highly coveted fish!
We have a little contest each year to see who can catch the highest number of different species of fish. This year was Jason's, with a haul of 6 species. Ben and I were just behind him with 5 apiece.
Between us we caught 7 species in total... Mackerel, Catshark, Launce, Pollack, Ballan Wrasse, Sea Bass and Pouting. The lack of any flatfish was pretty disappointing, we were hoping for at least a Dab or two.
